Team Atlanta, a group of Georgia Tech students, faculty, and alumni, achieved international fame when they won DARPA's AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC) and its $4 million grand prize. The Atlantis system is a fuzzer enhanced with large language models that autonomously finds and patches vulnerabilities.

DARPA announces Team Atlanta as the winner of the AI Cyber Challenge, a first-of-its-kind competition demonstrating autonomous systems using AI to secure open-source software. Teams discovered 54 unique vulnerabilities and patched 43, with an average cost of $152 per task compared to traditional bug bounties ranging from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Samsung Electronics won first place in the AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC) finals held during DEF CON 33 in Las Vegas. Team Atlanta, led by Samsung Research VP Taesoo Kim, demonstrated world-class AI-based security technology capabilities by showcasing technology that automatically detects and addresses software security vulnerabilities using AI.
